Sibling Fun Day
Parent to Parent Southland recently hosted a Sibling Fun Day at the Gore Multisports Complex, bringing together 19 young people aged 8 to 18. The event gave siblings of disabled, neurodivergent, or health-impaired brothers and sisters the chance to connect and enjoy activities like Laser Tag and Soccer Darts in a safe and supportive environment, fostering new friendships and a sense of community.
Hokonui Hauora Fund supported the event, covering the costs of activities, lunch, and the regional coordinator’s time and travel. Participants enjoyed a tasty Subway lunch and a day entirely focused on them, with no financial barriers, making it a valued opportunity for connection and fun.
