The Friday Night Family Fun Grand Re-Opening in February 2024 at The Bunker brought over 170 community members together for an evening of free food, entertainment, and connection. Families enjoyed a roast lamb dinner followed by dessert, while children bounced on the bouncy castle and danced to music from a local DJ. Volunteers and kitchen staff served over 150 plates, and attendees appreciated the welcoming, no-cost event, with many offering feedback for future improvements.

Support from the Hokonui Hauora Fund helped cover the costs of food, the DJ, and other essentials, making it possible for everyone to enjoy free entry and hot meals. The success of the Grand Re-Opening has encouraged another Friday Night Family Fun evening, attracting over 50 more attendees. Held every fortnight, the event has become a regular community gathering, giving families the chance to come together, share a meal, and enjoy a fun, family-friendly night.
