Mataura Family Fun Day once again brought the community together for an afternoon of entertainment, relaxation and friendly competition. With an estimated 500 people attending throughout the day, whānau enjoyed a wide range of free activities and games designed to create opportunities for connection and fun. Smaller spot prizes kept younger participants engaged, while larger competition prizes were presented during the evening session once results had been confirmed. Support from the Hokonui Hauora Fund helped make these activities and prizes possible, ensuring the event remained accessible for the community to enjoy.

Favourable weather meant many people stayed right through until closing, making the most of everything the day had to offer. The event also highlighted the value of collaboration, with local groups working together to deliver a positive experience for Mataura. As organisers reflected, it was "rewarding to see people come together and have fun," while the event also provided a chance to strengthen community connections and create lasting memories for local whānau.
