Hokonui Rūnanga Health and Social Services Trust hosted a one-day Rangatahi Holiday Programme on Tuesday 14 July at the MLT Multisports Complex for children aged 8 to 10 years. A total of 29 tamariki attended, enjoying a range of activities including laser tag, snag golf, soccer darts and ball games on the courts. The Hokonui Hauora Fund supported the venue hire, helping make the day possible. As one organiser shared, "It was awesome seeing the tamariki having fun together and getting involved in all the activities."

This was the fourth year the Trust has delivered holiday programmes for the community. This year, age groups were separated to better match activities to participants' interests, with positive feedback from parents and caregivers. The programme also gave tamariki the opportunity to build friendships and confidence while connecting with others from different schools. As one organiser reflected, "It is always rewarding to watch tamariki grow in confidence and make new friendships throughout the day."
